The importance of emotional support through divorce

Divorce was rarely smooth, and alongside a lawyer and a team of professionals, including a divorce coach, participants needed a solid emotional support network.

Host and family lawyer Sarah Barr-Young was joined by two of Stowe’s partner divorce coaches, Chloe Oudiz and Paula Crowhurst, to discuss how to build a divorce team around oneself, the role of friends and family, professionals, social media, and the importance of support groups.

In the session, they covered:

  • The importance of friends and family – they meant well but weren’t divorce professionals
  • What to avoid doing on social media (hint: stalking your ex)
  • The value of professionally-led support groups
  • How to build the right divorce team around you
  • Wellbeing during divorce
