Jennifer Y.’s story

Jennifer Y. is a British national living in France who had been stuck in a long-standing quagmire of negotiations with her soon-to-be ex-husband. They were unable to agree on either the financial arrangements or the parenting arrangements, and the situation was made more complex by the fact that her husband divided his time between France and the UK. Tensions within the family were also high, with some of the children refusing to see their father, creating an emotionally charged and logistically difficult landscape.

Together, we worked to prepare Jennifer for family mediation and to help her manage communication with her ex in a calmer, more constructive way. We focused on strategies that would reduce conflict and support meaningful dialogue, enabling her to approach mediation with clarity and confidence. Ultimately, Jennifer was able to reach agreements that not only worked for both parents but also took into account the individual needs of each child and the unique circumstances of their relationships with their father.
