Claire’s story

Claire

When Claire and I first met, she was at the very beginning of her divorce journey. Everything felt uncertain. She was struggling to communicate with her ex-partner, her children were refusing to spend time with him and she found the legal process confusing and overwhelming.

Our work together focused first on creating clarity. I guided her through the different stages of divorce, helping her understand what to expect and how to prepare at each step. This included supporting her ahead of a private Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR), working closely alongside her lawyer and financial adviser so she felt informed, organised, and confident in the decisions she needed to make.

At the same time, we worked on rebuilding communication with her ex. This was not about eliminating tension overnight, but about finding practical ways to engage more constructively—especially when it came to their children. Together, we developed parenting arrangements that reflected the needs of the whole family, while gradually restoring a level of trust that made ongoing co-parenting more manageable.

Over the course of more than a year, Claire moved from feeling stuck and uncertain to feeling empowered and in control. She developed the confidence to make clear decisions, to advocate for herself, and to approach negotiations with a calm and focused mindset.
